Police have charged a 61-year-old man from Huonville with perverting justice.

Police allege that in December 2022 the man provided false information to the Supreme Court when being sentenced in relation to the offence of attempting to involve a person under the age of 18 years in the production of child exploitation material.

The information provided by the man is alleged to have unduly influenced the judiciary and subsequent sentence imposed by the presiding Judge.

The man has been bailed to appear on 27 May 2024 at the Hobart Magistrates Court.
