At around 1.15am on Monday 23 December 2013, Tasmania Fire Service (TFS) and Tasmania Police responded to a house fire at 3/14 Sorell Street, Bridgewater.

The residence is a rental property; damage is estimated to be $200,000. No one was home at the time of the fire.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined, a fire watch was placed on the residence overnight and an investigation is being conducted by fire scene examiners, forensic services and members of Glenorchy CIB.
