Approximately 9am on 2nd of May 2012 Police and Fire Services were called to attend a house fire at Jansens Road, Riana.

When emergency services arrived the house was fully engulfed in flames. The fire was quickly brought under control and contained to the main residence of the property. Volunteer Fire Services from, Riana, Penguin and Ulverstone attended the scene.

There was no one home at the time of the fire.

A fire scene examiner and members of Western Criminal Investigation Branch attended.

At this stage the cause of the fire is undetermined.
