At approximately 10pm on Monday 3 January 2011, Tasmania Police and Tasmania Fire Service responded to a house fire at Midden Road, Primrose Sands which was unoccupied and vacant at the time.

The fire was extinguished by the Tasmania Fire Service, however had already sustained severe damage estimated at $150,000.

At this stage, the cause of the fire has not been determined and investigations are continuing.
