A 15 year old and a 14 year old youth will be proceeded against following a house fire in
Pioneer Avenue, New Norfolk, in the early hours of Tuesday 26 July.
The youths, who can’t be identified for legal reasons, will be summonsed to appear in
the Youth Justice Court, each facing one count of arson.
The fire, estimated to have caused around $200,000 damage, occurred at a former
police residence which had been vacant for some months. No member of the public
was at risk, and there is no suggestion that the fire was deliberately targeted at police.
