At 0001 Hrs on Wednesday 21st November 2012, Police and Fire Service units attended a house fire at an unoccupied property on Lennox Avenue, Lutana. 

The fire appears to have started in the underneath garage area and spread upstairs into the living area, causing damage to the kitchen. Two units from Tasmania Fire Service attended the scene and a quick response prevented the fire destroying the house, with damage estimated at $120,000.

Police and Fire Service personnel have conducted preliminary enquiries with a detailed scene examination to occur during daylight hours to establish the cause.
