At approximately 19:10 on Monday 22^nd of April 2013, Tasmania Police and Tasmania Fire Service (TFS) responded to a house fire at Duke Street, Sandy Bay.  The fire was extinguished by TFS officers soon after arrival. 

The cause and origin of the fire is un-determined at this stage.  A fire watch has been established, and the house will be examined by Fire Scene Examiners and Forensic Services on Tuesday (23/4/13) morning.  

No persons were injured as a result of this incident. Extensive damage was caused to the house.  At this time the cost of the damage cannot be estimated.
