About 6.20pm on Sunday 24 June 2012 Tasmania Fire Service, Tasmania Police and Tasmania Ambulance Service were called to attend a fire at the residence at Verelle Street, Burnie.

Upon arrival, the residence was well alight and the fire unable to be extinguished before the majority of it was destroyed or damaged.  The fire is being treated as suspicious and fire investigators will examine the scene on Monday to determine the cause. 

The residence was empty at the time and no one was injured as a result of the fire.

Police wish to speak to anyone who has any information in relation to the fire or who saw anyone or anything suspicious in the area around 6pm on Sunday evening.
