At approximately 4:15pm on Thursday 10th May 2012, Tasmania Police and Tasmania Fire Service (TFS) responded to a house fire at 2 Benboyd Circle, Rokeby.  The fire was extinguished by Fire Officers soon after arrival. 

The premises is a private rental property, which at the time of the fire was vacant and had been so for approximately three months.

The cause of the fire is suspicious and the premises sustained extensive fire damage.  Damage is estimated at $200,000.

The fire is being investigated by the Eastern District Criminal Investigation Branch.
