Police and Fire crews responded to a house fire in Fairfax Terrace, New Norfolk at approximately 1:00am today and the fire was extinguished.

The premises has been unoccupied for the past couple of months.

The fire was determined to be deliberately lit and a fire watch maintained overnight for investigators to examine in daylight.

The extent of the damage of the fire was estimated to be approximately $300,000.00.

No-one was harmed during the fire.
