At approximately 0030 hrs on Saturday 10 November 2018, Police and Tasmania Fire Service attended a house fire on Agnes Street, George Town. The property in question had been unoccupied for some time.

A Tasmania Fire scene Examiner later attended the scene and conducted an examination. The fire was deemed to have been deliberately. The property was completely destroyed by fire and the damage is believed to be in the vicinity of $130,000.00.

Tasmania Police are conducting further enquiries in relation to the matter.
