At 18:05hrs on Monday 6th July 2015 Tasmania Police and Tasmania Fire Service were called to attend a structure fire at 25 Dunn Street, Mathinna.

Upon arrival services found that the vacant house at that address was engulfed in flames and the entire structure was alight. The fire was extinguished however the house was completely destroyed. The house is believed to have been over 100 years old. The house was valued at approximately $100,000.

An examination by Tasmania Fire Services have concluded that the cause is undetermined at this stage. Investigations are continuing.
