HOUSE DAMAGED BY FIRE – UPPER NATONE ROAD, UPPER NATONE
A house located on Upper Natone Road, Upper Natone has been damaged by fire on the afternoon of the 1st of July 2015. Damage of the fire is estimated at $30,000.
Approximately 5pm, Burnie uniform officers and three Tasmania Fire Service appliances attended the weatherboard house to find smoke emitting from the residence. It took fire crews approximately 15 minutes to extinguish the fire and confirm the house was unoccupied at the time of the fire.
One room of the premises was directly damaged by the fire with the remainder of the property receiving smoke and water damage.
The fire has been confirmed to have ignited in the ceiling of the residence surrounding a wood heater flue.
A passing motorist observed smoke coming from the residence and contacted emergency services.
The residence was fitted with smoke alarms, although unoccupied at the time of the fire.
