Hooning Vehicle – Ulverstone – located and clamped, driver charged (1 Jan)
In the early hour of New Years Day 2014 Ulverstone Police were alerted to a vehicle driving erratically, with sustained loss of traction and causing unnecessary noise and smoke in the vicinity of Ocean Drive, Ulverstone and surrounding streets.
Acting on information from members of the public the offending vehicle, along with its driver, was subsequently located by Ulverstone police. He was arrested and conveyed to the Devonport police station where he was charged with a number of driving offences. He will appear in court at a later date.
Police would like to reiterate that this kind of driving behaviour is both antisocial and dangerous and would like to thank the public for their assistance in relation to this incident. Further that this type of driving will not be tolerated and Tasmania police actively investigate reports of this type of driving.
