HOONING VEHICLE – SANDOWN PARK SANDY BAY

On the evening of Tuesday 3 June 2014 police received reports from the public that a white Nissan Navarra flat tray utility was being driven on the sports field at Sandown Park, Sandy Bay.

This vehicle was observed damaging the soccer ground by being driven in an irresponsible manner damaging the surface of the ground.

An 18 year old male offender was subsequently intercepted by police in Sandy Bay as a result of information received from members of the public.

Police would like to thank those people for reporting the incident in a timely manner which greatly assisted police in apprehending the offender.

The offender will be charged with a number of offences as a result of this incident.

Significant damage was caused to the soccer ground as a result of this reckless behaviour.
