Hooning in Launceston

Launceston police would like to speak to any members of the public that witnessed a red sedan and a black motor cycle racing on Paterson Street in the Launceston CBD on Tuesday the 9th of April 2013 at approximately 5:30pm.

The motor cycle was on the back wheel at high speed travelling along Paterson Street in an easterly direction and then turned right into George Street. The red sedan was observed to turn left into George Street. A partial registration for the red sedan vehicle was obtained which was EV.

Police were able to stop and arrest the rider of the motorcycle, a 33 year old man from Riverside.   He will be charged with hooning offences and his motorcycle has been seized.  However police were unable to stop and identify the driver of the sedan and are seeking public assistance in identifying the driver.
