Police are reminding people to check that they have appropriate home security during this festive season.

During the response to and investigation of a small number of home burglaries in the Bellerive area, it has become apparent that opportunistic offenders are gaining entry to houses through unlocked windows and doors. Once inside offenders are targeting cash and electronic goods.

Some of these burglaries have occurred at night whilst residents have been home asleep.

Tasmania Police asks that people maintain suitable security to their homes at all times, secure cash appropriately and that they report any suspicious behaviour to Police immediately.
