During daylight hours on Tuesday 27 August and Wednesday 28 August 2013 eight houses in Sandy Bay, South Hobart, West Hobart, New Town were burgled and property stolen. 

 Thieves targeted cash and electronic equipment including computers and computer games.

 Police urge all home owners to secure windows and doors if they are not at home and keep valuable items stored out of sight. 

 Police ask residents to remain vigilant about visitors to their areas, take down registration numbers of cars and trucks in their street if they have not seen them before, or note down activities by people who may be mistaken for tradespeople and report any suspicious activity in their neighbourhoods to police on 131 444.
