Hobart man on $300,000 car theft charges

A 24-year-old Hobart man will appear in the Hobart Magistrates Court today charged with 12 motor vehicle theft offences.

The vehicles were stolen from the Greater Hobart area.

This is in addition to eight existing charges of motor vehicle theft against him that are currently before the courts.

The combined value of the vehicles he is charged with stealing is more than $300,000.

The arrest is as a result of Operation Branch which has been ongoing since January 2014.
