Hobart Cup information

 

On Sunday 13 February 2011, the annual AAMI Hobart Cup will be held at Tattersalls Park, Glenorchy.

 Significant traffic and pedestrian issues occur around this venue during the day and police advise of the following:

  • The roadway around the venue including the Brooker Highway will be reduced to 50km/h;
  • There is no vehicular access through the main gates during the event;
  • A designated drop off and pick up area for patrons will be established in the gravel car park directly outside the venue on Goodwood Road;
  • Disabled parking for permit holders will be available at the drop off and pick up area;
  • Free parking will be available at the DEC;
  • A taxi rank will be available at the drop off pick up area; and
  • Public transport is available to and from Brighton, Shoreline, Kingston and Hobart City.

There will be a high police presence in and around the event to address public order issues.  Police will be conducting extensive random breath testing as part of the management of the event.  Patrons should be advised that no free breath testing is available on site this year.
