Hobart CIB investigates ramraid of Hobart jewellers

Hobart CIB is investigating a ram raid of Claudia Jewellers, Magnet Court Sandy Bay during the early hours of Monday 5 June 2018.

 

While only a small amount of jewellery was stolen, extensive damage was caused to the front of the premises.  Offenders stole 15 rings from a display cabinet, with the loss to the store totalling around $25,000.

 

Police have ascertained that the vehicle used was a silver 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe stolen from Mount Stuart overnight on Tuesday 29 May 2018 and later recovered burnt out in Wellesley Street South Hobart about 1 hour after the raid.

 

While detectives are pursuing a number of lines of inquiry, they are seeking information from the public who may have seen the vehicle in the Sandy Bay or South Hobart area yesterday morning.
