Hobart CBD robbery
Hobart CIB is investigating the report of a robbery committed upon an elderly patron at the Hobart Mid City in Bathurst Street, at about 6.30pm on Thursday 26 August 2010.
The 83 year old male patron was confronted in the male toilets near the gaming area and had his wallet and an amount of money stolen. He received injuries to his head and arm in the incident and required medical attention.
Detectives believe that two males who were in the gaming area of the hotel at the time of the incident may be able to help with their enquiries.
The attached images of the men are taken from CCTV footage inside the hotel. The first male is described as 35 – 40 years of age, 170cm tall, of medium build with dark short hair with a rats tail. He was wearing black trousers, black shirt, black shoes and was carrying a black and grey backpack. Witnesses also described that he is missing two fingers on his left hand.
The second male is described as 30 – 35 years of age, 175 – 180cm tall, of slim to medium build with medium length brown hair and a beard. He was wearing a grey shirt, dark coloured leather jacket with blue jeans and white sandshoes.
