Historical firearms stolen from Queen Victoria Museum
At 4:39am this morning police attended the Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery on Invermay Road after an alarm was activated.
It was discovered that offenders had smashed their way into the museum and stolen two firearms from their glass display cabinets.
Both stolen firearms are similar looking to a modern day revolver and both are of significant historical value.
One firearm in particular belonged to the 19th century bush ranger Martin Cash.
Investigations are continuing.
