At 10.30am, Sunday 22 May 2016, a red Honda motorcycle was observed by northern police travelling at high speed west up Connaught Crescent, West Launceston.  The motorcycle was detected travelling at 96km/h in the 50km/h zone.

The bike was intercepted in Basin Road. The rider was a 21 year old male on a Learners Licence. He was issued with an infringement notice and his motorcycle was confiscated for 28 days.  The rider could face a 4 month disqualification.
