High Range Drink Driving – Edwards Street, Richmond
Richmond Police have charged a 62-year-old Southern Tasmanian woman with high range drink driving after she was caught more than four times the limit while driving in Richmond today.
Tasmania Police observed the woman driving poorly in Richmond and intercepted her a short time later.
She was breath tested and returned a positive reading; and later returned a breath analysis reading of 0.282.
Constable Etherington of Richmond Station said that poor driving and drink driving places the Tasmanian community and other road users at serious risk.
“No one can drive safely if they are under the influence of alcohol at any level, this sort of behaviour will not be tolerated by Tasmania Police,” Constable Etherington said.
If you witness drink driving, or any other dangerous driving behaviours, call police on 131 444 or Triple Zero (000) in an emergency.
The woman was immediately disqualified for 2 years and will appear in court at a later date.
