At 4.35pm on Tuesday the 27th September 2016 police intercepted a red Ford Falcon sedan on Mount Street, Upper Burnie after concerned members of the public notified police that the male driver was suspected of driving under the influence.

As a result the driver was detected with a high range drink driver reading of 0.277.

Police request that any person who may have observed the male or the vehicle in the Mount Street and Upper Burnie Woolworths area around this time to contact Sergeant Katrina Chivers at Burnie Police Station on 6477 7211.
