High range drink driver caught after crashing into stationary ambulance
A 25-year-old man has been charged with high range drink driving after crashing into a stationary ambulance at the scene of an earlier serious traffic crash last night.
Thankfully, no-one was injured in the collision.
The man from Risdon Vale returned a reading of 0.207 and was immediately disqualified from driving for two years and will appear in court at a later date.
Inspector Andrew Keane said the man had placed themselves, the Tasmanian community, and our emergency services workers in danger.
“It is very lucky that no-one was injured.
“No one can drive safely if they are under the influence of alcohol, and this sort of behaviour will not be tolerated,” he said.
“If you’ve been drinking, please don’t drive.”
