The Tasmania Police Westpac Rescue Helicopter was today tasked by Tasmania Police to search for a lost party of bushwalkers in the Reynolds Falls area near Cradle Mountain.  A party of three men and one woman had become lost whilst walking from Mt Cripps to Reynolds Falls and after camping the night contacted Tasmania Police for assistance. 

The Tasmania Police Westpac Rescue Helicopter attended from Hobart and located the four walkers unharmed and returned them to their vehicle.

Bushwalkers are reminded that the new generation of smart phones are no substitute for the traditional map and compass.  The GPS fitted in the phones is an accessory and is not to be compared with a specific purpose built GPS.
