On today’s date at approximately 1.00pm the Westpac Rescue Helicopter was tasked to Pine Valley near the Parthenon to located a female and her 8-year-old son who had become lost in the area.

The helicopter flew to the area and located the pair shortly after arriving. A paramedic was winched to the location and the two were assessed before being winched from the remote location. Both the female and child were un-injured.

The pair lost the track during the morning and continued to walk until the female contacted police via a mobile phone.
