About 1145hrs on Wednesday the 8th of February the Police Westpac Rescue Helicopter was activated to medivac a 62 year old Victorian man from a boat which was travelling from Victoria to Hobart and was 20 miles east of Babel Island.

The man was on a 38 foot yacht and was suffering a medical condition.  He was placed into the yacht's tender dinghy and winched from there by the helicopter. The man was treated by the flight paramedic and then flown to a hospital in Hobart.
