At approximately 3:00pm on Sunday 3/8/14 Tasmania Police Search and Rescue and Ambulance Tasmania received a call for assistance in relation to a 20 year old French man suffering from a medical condition at Mount Field. The man became unconscious during a walk from Lake Dobson to the Lake Seal lookout.

He was then assisted to the ski fields where he was treated by members of the Southern Tasmanian Ski Association who also made the call for assistance.

The Westpac Rescue Helicopter was tasked and was able to land nearby and collect the man before flying him to the Royal Hobart Hospital in a stable condition.
