At 5:00pm on Monday 21/11/16 Tasmania Police Search and Rescue were notified of an injured walker at Louisa River on the South Coast walking track. The 52 year Newtown man had suffered a lower leg injury and mad a satellite phone call for assistance.

The Westpac Rescue Helicopter was activated and was able to land near Loiusa River before flying the man to the Royal Hobart Hospital.
