On Sunday 23 February 2014 the Westpac Rescue Helicopter was tasked to attend Gaff Hill near Tunbridge for a hang gliding accident.

A 43 year old male suffered extensive injuries after crashing his hang glider on the northern side of Gaff Hill.

The helicopter flew to the area where the male was treated before being returned to Hobart in a stable condition.
