The Tasmania Police Westpac Rescue Helicopter today responded to an injured walker at Kia Ora Hut on the Cradle Mtn – Lk St Clair overland track. A 45 year old woman Queensland and her 14 year old had activated an emergency PLB after she suffered from a medical condition and was unable to walk further.

The woman was treated at the scene by a paramedic and then she and her son were flown to Hobart in a satisfactory condition.
