On Monday 14 December 2015 at approximately 9.00pm the Westpac Rescue Helicopter was tasked to attend Low Rocky Point on the states West coast to retrieve an injured fisherman.

The helicopter flew to the location however poor weather prevented the rescue of the patient from the vessel.

The helicopter was grounded at Strahan for the night and the patient was retrieved at approximately 8.30am today.

The 32 year old man from Hobart was flown to Hobart in a stable condition.
