On today’s date at approximately 2.00pm the Westpac Rescue Helicopter was tasked to attend Eaglehawk Neck for a vessel in distress. Witnesses reported seeing a male clinging to a submerged vessel in the vicinity of the Blowhole.

A vessel in the area came to the aid of the fisherman and he was removed from the water and taken to the Eaglehawk Neck boat ramp.

He was suffering from mild hypothermia and conveyed to the Royal Hobart Hospital
