Helicopter beach rescue
On Tuesday the 21st of September at approximately 1600hrs police were called to attend a serious single vehicle crash in an isolated remote area on Sisters Beach at Granville Harbour on the state’s West Coast.
The 41 year old male driver was driving his 4 wheel drive vehicle on Sisters Beach when he lost control causing the vehicle to roll a number of times. Two passengers in the vehicle sustained only minor injuries and were treated at the scene.
The driver however suffered significant injury to his upper right arm and was airlifted by the Rescue Helicopter to the Royal Hobart Hospital where he was treated for his injuries.
Hazardous conditions on the beach may have contributed to the vehicle losing control.
