At about 6.40pm on Tuesday, 4 February 2014 an International Truck towing a trailer load of poppies has failed to negotiate a left hand corner on Green Rises Road, Cressy and has ended up on its side in a paddock.

The crash led to a small grass fire which was quickly extinguished by a passing motorist.

Both the truck and trailer suffered significant damage.

The 51 year male driver from Devonport was taken to the Launceston General Hospital for assessment. His injuries are not considered serious.

Tasmania Police are conducting an investigation into the cause of the crash.
