Graffiti offenders caught

As a result of investigations undertaken by the Kingston Police, two males aged 16 and 18 years were identified in connection with approximately 200 acts of graffiti within the Kingston area.  The locations targeted by these offenders included Channel Highway, Summerleas Road, Kingston View Drive, Maranoa Road and Opal Drive. 

The offenders will be dealt with pursuant to the provisions of the Police Offences Act 1935, which specifically prohibits the use of graffiti.

Police will continue to actively target this type of behaviour and members of the public are asked to notify police if they receive information in respect to the identity of other offenders.

Retailers are also advised that under the provisions of the Police Offences Act 1935, a person must not, without lawful excuse, distribute, supply or sell graffiti equipment to a youth.  Retailers who have been approached by youths to purchase graffiti equipment are requested to notify police.
