Graffiti charges – Launceston

Over recent months the Northern Graffiti Task Force have been investigating a large number of graffiti offences across all areas of Launceston.

Today task force members have executed search warrants on two Launceston addresses, locating documents, electronic equipment and other evidence related to the offences.

Two eighteen year old Launceston men have been arrested and charged with injury to property, mark graffiti and criminal damage offences.

This includes a large graffiti mural completed on the façade of the Harris Scarfe building on the 17th of January.  Further charges will be laid against the men as police complete their enquiries.

They have been bailed to appear in the Launceston Magistrates Court on Wednesday the 19th of September 2012.

Investigations are continuing into other suspects who have been linked to similar graffiti offences.
