Glenorchy Centro robbery

At 4.36pm on 22 November 2012 a male has entered the Glenorchy News Agency located in the Glenorchy Centro Complex.  He immediately jumped the counter of the New Agency, producing a knife and told the female attendant to “get back’.  The male grabbed a bag from behind the counter containing a small amount of cash and immediately ran from the Centro Complex, exiting via the Terry Streetentrance/exit. 

The offender entered a taxi parked on Terry Street and was transported only a short distance to Hull Street, Glenorchy. 

He is described as being of slim build, wearing a distinctive red hooded jumper with black writing, also wearing black sunglasses, black sneakers and black track pants.  The male attempted to disguise his identity by covering his head with the hood of his jumper and wearing sunglasses.  Investigations have revealed the male was in the company of a female who is described as in her early twenties, medium build and wearing a pink top. 

No persons were physically injured during the incident.

CCTV captures the offender’s movements before and after the incident and police are following a specific line of enquiry in relation to the identity of both the male and female.
