At 06:45am on Sunday 5th October 2014 Tasmania Police and Tasmania Fire Service (TFS) were called to attend a structure fire at Paterson Crescent, George Town.

On arrival, TFS found the south eastern corner of the house alight. TFS were able to successfully extinguish the fire, however, as a result, the laundry and bathroom were destroyed. Damage is estimated at approximately $60,000.00.

The property was occupied at the time of the fire and no persons were injured.

The cause of the fire has been determined as deliberate and Tasmania Police will be conducting a full investigation.
