Tasmania Police are currently investigating reports of people door knocking in the Ulverstone area claiming to be raising funds for a local school charity running event.  

Enquiries with that school have revealed that no such event is planned.   A small amount of money has been fraudulently obtained by these people and enquiries are continuing into the matter.

Tasmania Police would like to advise members of the public approached by individuals fundraising for charities of any description, to request and check the identification and bona fides of those people before donating money or goods.
