Forest machinery damaged

During March 2011, two separate incidents of property destruction and theft occurred at a logging coupe near Birralee in Northern Tasmania.

One of the matters on 7 March 2011 involved criminal damage intentionally done to logging machinery, causing approximately $50,000 worth of damage. These actions halted logging operations in the area and police are currently investigating the matter, with several avenues of enquiry regarding the motives of the offenders being addressed.   Forensic evidence was obtained and is also being examined.
