First Course Of Police Recruits For 2017 Inducted
The first course of police recruits for 2017 will be inducted into the Tasmania Police Academy this afternoon.
“It is always a proud moment for me to welcome new members,” said Commissioner Darren Hine.
“Today we induct 10 women and 10 men into our police service as they commence what will be a fulfilling and rewarding career,” said Commissioner Hine.
Led by Recruit Course Directors Sergeant Kim Parish and 1/C Constable Andrew McShane, the recruits will undergo a raft of scenario based training, investigation tactics, operational skills, road policing and physical training.
“As Course Directors we will guide the recruits every step of the way through their intensive 28 week training course and 3 week in-field training,” said Sergeant Kim Parish.
“Today’s inductees have challenging and exciting times ahead of them as they learn the skills needed to protect and serve their community,” said Sergeant Parish.
“Being a police officer is one of the most rewarding and varied careers available and we look forward to watching the progress of our newest members,” said Sergeant Parish.
