At about 8.30pm on Saturday 26 May police received several 000 calls in respect to shots being fired in the vicinity of the units on Tolosa St Glenorchy.  On arrival police were confronted with a violent situation involving about a dozen persons. A number of arrests were made. The area was then cordoned off, the persons remaining in one unit were removed and the area cleared. At this time a broader search was made for the persons responsible for the shots.

It would appear that the cause of the incident has been a dispute between two groups of people that became violent.

A short time later another male was located at a separate Glenorchy address and was arrested for firearms offences.  It is believed all the offending persons are now in custody.

CIB and Forensics personnel are investigating the matter.
