Detectives from Launceston CIB are investigating an incident on Lilydale Road, Rocherlea this afternoon where an individual has received a bullet wound to his leg.

The incident has occurred at a private residence just before 1.30pm.  It is unclear at this time how the incident occurred however witnesses are assisting police with their enquiries.

Police firmly believe there is no threat of harm to any other residents or neighbours.

Investigations are continuing.
