Firearm discharge from Residence in Kingston
Police are dealing with a firearms incident involving a known party in Kingston.
Before 7pm last night police received calls of shots fired from a property in Swift Place.
Upon arrival at the property, Police dispersed two males present outside the residence. Two other males believed involved with the firearms discharges from the house were established as within the property at Swift Place where they have remained overnight.
Police, investigators and specialist units have cordoned off the property in Kingston, and throughout the night have attempted communications with the occupants aimed at safe resolution. This may continue for some time.
Police believe the two people within the property are responsible for the gunshots. While shots were discharged, it is believed they were related to the presence of other persons within proximity of the property not directed at neighbouring properties or occupants.
It is believed no-one has been injured.
Police have assessed the safety of neighbours and other residents of Swift Place and have no immediate concerns for their welfare as they believe this is a targeted incident between the occupants of the house and another party.
Police are aiming to peacefully end this situation through negotiations, however a strong police contingency will be present until the situation is resolved.
