As a result of information received from the public; Detectives and uniform personnel from Southern District conducted a search at an address in Rangeview Crescent Lenah Valley, yesterday.

 As a result of the search a .22 rifle and shotgun ammunition were seized from the address.  Neither the firearm nor ammunition were stored correctly and police suspect the firearm is stolen.

 As a result of investigations a 20 year old man from Lenah Valley was arrested, charged and bailed for Unlawful Possession and firearm offences.  He will appear in the Hobart Magistrates court in early September.

 Tasmania Police seek assistance from members of the public regarding information relating to any unlawful firearms in the community.
