Fire Reject Shop Devonport
On Friday 19th October 2012 at approximately 2:11am Tasmania Police and the Tasmania Fire Service were informed of a structure fire at the Reject Shop, Stewart Street, Devonport.
On arrival a fire was detected in the retail area of the store originating from the loading bay. The fire was immediately extinguished by the Tasmania Fire Service resulting in minimal damage to the building and stock.
The value of damage to the building and stock is estimated initially at $300,000 but may be revised upon further examination.
The cause of the fire is yet to be determined and fire scene examiners and Forensic Services will attend for further examination in the morning.
